Description

This Lincoln Cent was made during the Second World War, in 1943, at the Philadelphia Mint. The United States government ordered the US Mint to temporarily make pennies out of Steel for the year 1943, so that the copper and bronze could be used to make artillery shells, ammunition, and bombs.
