This coin was minted 105 years ago at the Mexico City Mint. The Obverse side design features the official coat of arms and government seal of the United Mexican States. The design features a Golden Eagle perched on a Prickly Pear Cactus and eating a Rattlesnake. Underneath is a half-wreath made from evergreen and olive leaves, and above is the legend "ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS" and the purity of the metal, which is 72% silver. The Reverse side design features a Liberty Cap (it says "Libertad" because it's in Spanish), floating above the coin's value with a shining light emanating from it. The value, 50 Centavos, is stated above the date, and another half-wreath made of evergreen and olive leaves, tied together with a ribbon. The "M" mint mark, indicating the origin, is located between the number 50 and the word "Centavos".
