Description

These Jefferson Nickels were minted across the USA for 2 years. The first 2 designs in the series were minted and released in 2004, while the latter half of the series was minted and released in 2005. Each half of the series bears a different Obverse side portrait of Jefferson, with 2005 having a unique, close-up version only used for the series. Each of the 4 designs represents and commemorates the Lewis & Clark Expedition Team and their journey across the Louisiana Territory in 1804 and 1805, released as a bicentennial celebration of the journey taken by the group.
